Zero produces a Hero! SR electric bike awesomeness.

Zero SRWhenever I think of electric automobiles, the only name that comes to my mind is Tesla. Elon Musk’s company is the only one out there that produces cars used on a comparatively large scale. But now a 2 wheeler company is out there to change it all! And the company is called Zero.

The company was founded by a NASA engineer, so naturally it should have some space age products. The Zero SR is an upgrade to the Zero S, which means a lot of alien terminology has been added to it.

You get a Z force motor that churns out 67hp of power and, wait for it, 144Nm of torque. To put things in perspective, the Hayabusa produces 135Nm of torque, so, yeah. The battery powering the bike charges itself when you brake, which is quite cool. It will do 0-100kmph in 3.5 secs and go on to a top speed of 164kmph.

The best part though, is the range, where most electric automobiles get smacked in the face. The Zero SR can do 220kms on a single charge, which can be increased to 276kms with a power pack upgrade. To add to the awesomeness, another spacey gadget will charge your bike to 100% within 1 hour. It can keep doing this for 4.8 lac kilometers.

The bike is priced at around 17,000 dollars, so it isn’t exactly cheap, but then with aircraft grade materials and such sophisticated tech under the hood we think it is well worth the dough. But then again it isn’t going to be seen zooming on the streets of India anytime soon.
