Random World Biking News 1: Pope’s Harley up for auction
Nothing says ‘Jesus rode a Harley’ like a silver Harley
So the current pope (Francis) isn’t really a Bad-Ass who drives on the streets of the Vatican. But he can still sell the bike that was gifted to him by Harley Davidson last year on their 110th Anniversary. The bike is an anniversary edition, Dyna Super Glide and has a silver paint job. The fuel tank is also autographed by the Pope himself, so arguably it is the holiest bike in the world today.
The Pope though looks as if he has had enough of the Beast (0ops I mean bike). The proceeds from the auction of the bike will go to charity, more specifically Don Luigi di Liegro hostel and soup kitchen in Rome’s Termini railway station. The auction site has set the expected price to £10,000-£12,500 which is way cheaper than an original anniversary edition Dyna Super Glide(priced at £12,995). We expect the bike to sell well over those two prices however.

Random World Biking News 2: Magazine releases Yamaha R25 pics
The concept R25 showcased at Tokyo Motor Show in Nov’13
Japanese biking magazine, Young Machines sported some brand new snaps of the Yamaha R25 in their latest edition. The R25 was first displayed at the Tokyo Motor Show last November. The bike is a 250cc version and will be competing with Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Honda CBR300R.
At the motor show, Yamaha had announced that it would be fitted with a 250cc parallel-twin, while it also obviously used a steel tube perimeter frame, RWU forks and an aluminum swingarm. The magazine adds to those specifications mentioning the bike will have a six-speed gearbox, an overall length of 78.7 inches, a width of 28.3 inches and a height of 44.8 inches.
Release dates were not announced at the Motor Show, neither were they mentioned in the magazine. What do you make of this Yamaha sub 500cc Superbike, does it stand a chance?

Random World Biking News 3: Alstare and Bimota join Hands
The gorgeous Bimota DB7
Alstare, a Former World Superbike Championship winning team has recently announced that it will be teaming up with Bimota to expand its racing division.
Bimota is a small, Italian manufacturer of custom and production motorcycles. It was founded in 1973 in Rimini, Italy by Bianchi, Morri and Tamburini. Alstare pans to set up a Racing Headquarters in Liege from where it will provide technical support to all official Bimota teams worldwide with the supply of parts for track use for at least the next five years.
Alstare will also be handling the research and development wing over at Bimota from now on. They will also work on improving the Italian motorcycle manufacturer’s Moto2 bikes and the new S1000RR-powered BB3 road bike. Objectives also include setting up an official online community for Bimota.
Alstare was instrumental in Suzuki’s run to the WSBK title in 2005, and returned to the World Superbike Championship with Ducati in 2013. They will not be entering the competition this time around though, as the company prepares Bimota for the big leagues.

What difference is an extra 50cc going to make? 5HP more at redline? Whooeee! It’ll still be as slow as reindeer crap. Which is the whole point of a 250cc bike, you know. The big difference between the Kawi 300 and the Honda 250 is that one is made by Kawasaki and the other by Honda. Two very-different philosophies. And neither of those two bikes looks as good as this bike, admittedly without headlights and mirrors but still. Yamaha has said, “so fine make the Ninja 300 look just like the Ninja 650. We will make our 250 look just like our MotoGP bike LOL”
