Ducati Scrambler revealed! Looks retro cool

Possibly the most leaked motorcycle ever, the one which almost everyone had seen before the official launch, is now finally here for good. The Ducati Scrambler was unveiled at the ongoing INTERMOT 2014, and looks quite awesome, if a bit too lean. The Scrambler is the newest bike from the Ducati stable, and promises the same level of refinement and build-quality that is offered by the Italian marque across its range of products.

Here is a look at the specifications of Ducati Scrambler:

  •  803 cc engine derived from the Monster 796
  • V-Twin configuration
  • Air cooled
  • 75 HP
  • 68 Nm
  • Twin spar steel trellis frame
  • Die-cast aluminium swingarm
  • 18 inch front wheel
  • 17 inch rear wheel
  • Knobby Pirelli tires
  • Brembo brakes
  • ABS standard
  • Kayaba 41mm upside down forks at front
  • Kayaba monoshock with adjustable spring preload at rear
  • Underseat storage with USB socket
  • Low seat height at 790 mm
  • 170 kgs dry weight
  • Wide handlebars
  • LED head and tail lights
  • Digital instrument console
  • Available in red and yellow colors

Overall, the latest offering from Ducati remains true to the spirit of Scramblers, by blending various motorcycle design philosophies to create a unique machine, something that is generally done by aftermarket custom bike builders only. The teardrop fuel tank, absolutely bare-bone look, and aluminium side-panels give the bike a very retro look, and I can dig that!

If only Ducati could get their shit together in India, and launch this beauty at an affordable price. Is it too much to ask?
