Thanks to the good folks at Motorbeam.com, we are getting this wonderful news today! Suzuki, which isn’t doing so hot in the market right now, is planning to bring over the GSX150R to India. Now we all know, Indians are suckers for full-faired bikes, and this one is no slouch. It comes from the family of mighty powerful liter class bikes and should drive and look awesome!
Yamaha R15 and to some extent the Honda CBR150R have already carved a place for them in this niche, so the baby gixxer won’t have an easy life to start with. But with 4 valves, liquid cooling, fuel injection and six-speed transmission, it will be hard to look over. The biggest hurdle would definitely be the small footprint Suzuki has in number of service outlets.
Another news is that there might be a faired version of GS150R in the works to rival the Fazer. More options is never a bad thing!
Prices of the GSX150R should hover around the 1.1lac mark. Withe Inazuma also coming into the picture shortly, Suzuki will finally have a well balanced portfolio.
