Bad news for Bajaj, Kurt Caselli dies in racing accident.

Kurt CaselliOne of the best off-road racers in the world, Kurt Caselli, died while competing in the SCORE Tecate Baja 1000 in Baja California, Mexico on November 15th. The 30yr old American known for his warm personality, died of head injuries after hitting what has been described as a man-made booby trap around the 796 mile mark, which is supposedly a common feature in Baja 1000 races. He was leading the race on his factory KTM and fighting hard against the JCR Honda Team to win the 883.1 mile race.

In the 2013 Dakar Rally he stunned everyone with two impressive stage wins in his rookie debut, and just last month he finished 7th in the season-opener at the Morroco Rally. He became a permanent member of KTM’s rally team, after Cyril Despres switched to Yamaha Racing.

Bajaj holds 47% shares of the Austrian company, and as such this loss is our loss as well. RIP Kurt Caselli.
