Hyosung Aquila 250, Hyosung GD250N and Hyosung RT125D: Auto Expo

Right after Bajaj shared their list of products to be shown off at the Auto Expo, DSK Hyosung has also come out with a list of new bikes they will showcase there. Let’s take a look at each one of them in detail.

Hyosung Aquila 250

Hyosung Aquila 250DSK Hyosung Aquila 250 is the only bike that will be officially launched at this year’s Auto Expo. The two other bikes will just be displayed, and based on the consumer response the decision to launch them or not will be taken.

Aquila 250 is a lovely looking cruiser that sports a 249cc V-twin engine. The power is not-so-great 24.5hp @ 9000rpm and torque stands at 20Nm @ 7000rpm. Looks like it will take a big twist of the throttle to get this beast going.

The engine sports oil cooling, which should help with those long haul rides. The fuel tank can take 14 liters of gas, which isn’t a lot if you ask me. I guess the range of Aquila 250 on a full tank of gas will be about 500kms.

The worst part though: Top Speed of 128kmph. Really? A 250cc bike that can’t go above 128? That is a shocker. Looks like your long distance tours will take even longer than you thought. The speculation on price is still going on, my guess would be something around 2.2lacs. Let’s hope for the best!

Hyosung GD250N

Hyosung GD250NThe Hyosung GD250N is a 250cc single cylinder naked bike that looks quite stubby and cool. It makes 28 horses and 24Nm of torque, which should be quite enough to propel this little thing to the top of the line.

6 speed manual transmission should be nice to use. Braking power is provided by discs upfront and back. That under-belly exhaust looks especially cool, can’t say the same for the white alloys though, they are going to be a pain to maintain.

Overall, the GD250N looks like a nicely packaged deal, but it should come at a nice price too. Based on the customer response at the Auto Expo, DSK Hyosung will decide if they want to sell this bike in India or not. Let’s wait and see then!

Hyosung RT125D

Hyosung RT125DThe Hyosung RT125D is another bike that the Korean manufacturer is not sure of launching in India. The 13,5PS bike looks like an off-roader’s delight, with spoked wheels, high ground clearance and look at that massive rear tire!

The fuel tank looks rather puny though, so this doesn’t look like a touring bike at all. The seat looks like you wouldn’t be sitting for long on it, neither will the pillion. The under-seat exhaust looks awesome to say the least.

Hyosung has big plans for India, and for good reason. We are an emerging market for big bikes and a lot of big names have shown great interest here. It’s a really good time to be a biker in India!
