Bajaj Pulsar 400SS and Pulsar 400CS displayed.

Bajaj Pulsar 400SSWell, Bajaj has fooled us all. All the time we kept thinking the bike they were testing was a Pulsar 200SS or a Pulsar 375, turns out they call it a Pulsar 400SS, although the engine is the 375cc mill from the Duke 390.

Bajaj have also launched a naked version, christened the Pulsar 400CS. Both bikes are radical looking, with ultra modern instrument consoles and huge physical presence. I really doubt these bikes will make it as-is to production, but as long as the important parts are there I would be happy.

Looks like all the good things from Duke 390 have been carried forward to these beauties. Some of the features are:

1. Super sticky Metzeler tires
2. Standard ABS
3. 375cc motor
4. Oil cooling
5. Fuel injection

Bajaj Pulsar 400CSThe Pulsar 400SS gets dual projectors, so night-time visibility should be splendid. Both bikes look kick-ass, with their stubby underbelly exhausts and overall muscular look. Power and torque details haven’t shared yet, neither has the price. This is expected, as both of these bikes can be considered to still be in the concept phase, although almost near production.

Think of the Pulsar 400CS as a cheaper version of the Duke 390. The same goes for the 400SS, which should be the poor man’s RC 390, when it is launched. I expect the Pulsar 400CS to be priced around 1.5lacs, while the Pulsar 400SS at 1.8lacs.

Today is just the start, let’s see what else Bajaj and all other manufacturers have in store for us!
